  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 small pinch of ground cloves (Optional)
  • 1 small pinch of ground cayenne pepper(Optional)

Step 1: Combine all of the ingredients in a small pot and add half a cup of the water to it.

Step 2: Bring the ingredients to a boil over medium heat and stir it frequently.

Step 3:  Once the mixture reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer the ketchup for 15 minutes. Stir it every few minutes and don’t let it stick to the sides or bottom of the pot or burn. add more water if necessary to prevent it from thickening too much.

Step 4: If after 15 minutes you find that your ketchup was so thin, raise the heat between medium and high and stir is frequently to evaporate the excess water. To check thickness of the ketchup, drag a wooden spoon across the bottom of the pot. If it leaves an empty trail that does not fill in right away, the thickness of the ketchup will be appropriate.

Step 5: Turn off the heat and let the ketchup cool for 5 minutes. Then, transfer it to a glass jar. You can keep the ketchup in the refrigerator for a month.
